It also just seems a bit wonky that you'd be waiting for an item to appear in the game in order to get the ability to.make that item appear in the game. Having to unlock traits that way might also force you to pick a trait that is useless or even a detriment for that particular game, potentially while simultaneously having to pass up on good choices. You can easily get enough nuggets in a single run to unlock multiple items of your choice. Unlocking through quests would probably also be slower than the current chicken nugget system. With the current system, you can also prioritize what items/traits you want to unlock first. If you were unlucky, you might never *find* Resurrection Shampoo during play to be able to unlock it. The down side of that is that it would make you completely reliant on the RNG to unlock stuff. You could still use the doctor/thief to remove items from the pools, just not to unlock new perks. Honestly, you could do the same thing with traits, (A new trait appears in the trait selection menu (With gold text, to draw attention), use it's abilty, unlock it) and just remove chicken nuggets, at least until you found another use for them. The quest would be to be ressurected once by the shampoo, and if you did the quest, you would unlock the item. A little message would appear above your character's head (similar to the "Big Quest Updated!" one) that says "Item Quest Started!". For instance, you rob a bank, and inside the safe you find a Ressurection Shampoo. To unlock the Comedian, you need to kill yourself or another person, on a. Lmk if you got anymore questions.Originally posted by DylanMiner007:Maybe you would have the chance to find a non-unlocked item in a chest/safe, and if you completed a certain mission with it you would unlock it to use. It stops you from automatically equipping a weapon when you pick it up. Again, probably wouldn't matter if you want to unlock every Super Special Character ASAP.įinal Note: Some mutators would be useless for certain characters (i.e Enabling Infinite Ammo for a Gorilla or Jock run wouldn't make much sense since both characters are either incapable of firearms or are more proficient in melee ability anyway) Speedrunner Standardized also has these unknown tweaks but also every level has a 4 minute timer, and all unlocked traits and rewards in their respective pools are enabled. For example unlimited melee weapon condition and unlimited ammo. Although I find some mutators to be OP, still allowing unlocks, and obscurely more of a plus than a 'change' of gameplay. Speedrunner Mode has some effect on the gameplay (wiki has no idea what these tweaks are) so I don't think it would matter if it was enabled. I believe mutators are a fun way to 'change' up the gameplay. I'm also unsure if mutators that remove districts or levels (like any of the "remove x district" or "Quick Game") negate Big Quests completions since I've never fiddled with them (I always had more fun with vanilla runs with the standard characters). Try to not buy or hire anything and sell everything you dont need. Its the green machine, but it has a limited use. The selling machine or the special item for the banker. However, Faster Gameplay would be my obvious recommendation. Just play the game and sell items, that is everything you need. To be completely honest just because you have unlimited ammo on a gun or an indestructible melee weapon, understanding your character's abilities/limitations is the key to completing big quests. Most of the mutators are meant to make the game more difficult or twist how the levels or npcs work. It also adds a forced time limit and forces all unlocks to be unlocked (which has no effect if the player has already unlocked everything). This modding library does nothing on its own, but it provides methods for other mods to easily create custom mutators, items, traits, status effects. It changes settings in the game to improve the experience for speedrunners (although its unclear what these exact changes are). 7 comments Best Add a Comment deleted 3 yr. As far as I know, only Sandbox Mode disables any achievements or Big Quests unlocks. Speedrun Mode (Standardized) is a Mutator in Streets of Rogue.
